I found out, after having a fasting cholesterol test, that I have slightly high cholesterol. I know that I need to eat better, less fat and all. I exercise regularly (brisk walking at least 40 to 50 minutes a day). Is there anything else I can do to lower my cholesterol?

1 pm: 1 chicken breast (marinated only in garlic and pepper) 1 cup brown rice
4 pm: 1 chicken breast (marinated only in garlic and pepper) 1 cup brown rice
7 pm: 1 chicken breast (marinated only in garlic and pepper) 1 cup brown rice and a good sized salad with no fat vinagrette
Weight Training (different group of muscles 5 days a week/ abs 3 days a week)
I get cardio from extensive walking on the job (body fat is in the single digits)
post workout: 1 protein shake (made with skim milk, whey protein, yogurt, ice)
10pm: a couple slices of lowfat sandwhich turkey typically before bed
I have been on this diet, while lifting pretty extensively lately. I have lost 10 pounds in 3 weeks but wonder if this could give me cholesterol problems. I know its low fat but chicken and protein have a decent amount of cholesterol. Any thoughts?

Hi
so as you know by the question, i’m on a low-calorie low-fat diet to lose some excess weight and lower my LDL Cholesterol. I have a huge problem with water retention and I know that foods with a lot of sodium don’t help. What is considered a healthy amount of sodium to take in daily? (in mg)?
for example there are these sandwiches called Daily fresh, which are very low calorie, very low fat sandwiches but the sodium content for one is 1100mg. Is this normal?
please help thanks
