with these is they start giving me horrible muscle pains in my legs, so much I couldnt walk up the stairs without severe pain. Needless to say the side effect of MUSCLE damage made me stop taking the drug. Now what other things can I do to lower this down besides exersize and low fat diet which I already am doing. I also take flaxseed oil, does this actually DO anything? I need to get this down before I have a heart attack- seroius answers please

I have been trying to lose fat recently because I have cholesterol issues, but I’ve always found it hard. I’m well in to nutrition and have also tried all of the common risky diets under the sun to no avail.
I’m not really fat, I’ve got a BMI of 28 but I’m built for rugby and I’m 6ft 4in.
For the last 3 months I’ve eaten a daily calorie intake of no more than 2000cal on a low fat diet, and on rare occasion that I had some biscuits, a chocolate bar etc I had a smaller meal to compensate. According to a nutritionist because of my muscle mass and frame size I would naturally burn at least 3500cal per day without exercise (average male 2500cal)
On the low calorie & fat diet it was difficult to do exercise as I didn’t have enough energy, but i still should have lost fat as 3500-2000 = 1500 calories had to come from somewhere right?!!!
One thing I’ve learned is that fat loss is not as simple as it I wish it was. {If it was then 1g of fat contains 9 calories, so in a day I would burn 167g of fat and lose a kilo in 6 days! Without going to the gym and doing more}
I didn’t lose any weight when I went for my checkup last week so I’ve been put on orilstat! Fat pills that stop me absorbing so much fat in my gut. I hardly eat any fatty foods, so not sure if that’ll work either.
I’m aware that most people jump straight to metabolism as their problem when they’re just in denial about stuffing their faces. THIS PERSON IS NOT ME! So I’m not ruling about metabolism as there seems to be no other way to explain why I never lose fat. When I rowed for uni 12 times a week i still maintained fat levels, just put on more muscle so I appeared slimmer.
Sorry this is so long, I’m hoping to attract a few nutritionists and medical experts, not to say anyone’s view isn’t welcome!!! Any tips from anyone would be very helpful.
Thanks

…Quite often foods like these are brought to our Sunday School meetings. More and more these treats are getting left behind, because they are not on many diets, or people are reducing.
…I have an idea – to make these more palatable to the masses, we can just describe these treats differently, then maybe more will get eaten and there will be less waste.
…i.e., DIET DOUGHNUTS, NO MSG, LOW-FAT, LOW-CHOLESTEROL, 1/3 FEWER CALORIES, etc.
…We could even find some unknown quack doctor to endorse it as health food. There are some of these prowling around the late-night TV programs.
…Don’t laugh, I have old TV programs that feature the stars smoking cigarettes and citing a doctor’s study, and this doctor can find nothing no difficulties with heavy smoking – that Chesterfield cigarettes are okay for you.
…Don’t get concerned, I say most of this tongue-in-cheek. I have to watch what I eat – diabetes, etc. This question is a little baiting to get your dandruff up.
…Do check out some of these TV adds and radio ads, even stories on TV and radio. They are deceptive; listen to them carefully.
…Last, I do not endorse tobacco use at all. My father-in-law has advanced emphysema from cigarette smoking. I smoked for a while but thank goodness I quit 30 years ago. I have know love for the tobacco industry at all, and think it is a dirty shame that our government advertises against, but enjoys the tax money collected from it.

I know they have cholesterol lowering medications that reduce cholesterol to different degrees. But how much can we reduce our cholesterol levels by diet alone? Can we reduce them by like 50% for example or is that unrealistic? If you reduced your cholesterol by diet alone (no medications), how much lower were your cholesterol levels after modifying your diet? I can’t see reducing my cholesterol / saturated fat intake if it’s only going to reduce my cholesterol levels by a few percentage points, it doesn’t seem worth it. Unless it can be reduced by at least 20 percent.
