Generally… How long does it take to lower your cholesterol? 3

Since Thanksgiving I have been eating a considerably high fat diet. My doctor informed me my cholesterol was high. I know exactly what I should be eating but here’s my question. I’ve seen that oatmeal commercial where they claim you can lower your cholesterol 7 points in 30 days. I’m eating a drastically low fat diet and wanted to know could that coupled with eating foods like oatmeal, fish (Omega 3) walnuts etc.. lower my cholesterol much more than 7-10 points in a month? I’ve tried researching it and I’m not finding any info on how long it takes to lower your cholesterol. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

my workout/diet plan? 2

hey guys i am 16 year old guy trying to lose my last 10 pounds of fat and build muscle. below is my diet plan and then my workout plan.

breakfast- whey protein shake with a banana

snack- 2 dates(fruit) with a handful of walnuts, and garbonzo beans(protein source)

lunch- turkey sandwhich(wholewheat bread, lettuce, tomatoes)

snack- 3/4 cup of low fat cottage cheese with blueberries and walnuts

workouts from 3 to 4:30

dinner- whey protein shake with a banana

snack- i just snack on tomatoes or carrots, or something small like grapes or an apple.

workout plan

monday- arms and shoulder weight lifting for 70 minutes, core excersises for 20 minutes

tuesday- chest and back weight lifting for 70 minutes, core excersises for 20 minutes

wednesday- row mahcine, running, leg lifting for 50 minutes

thursday- arms and shoulder weight lifting for 70 minutes, core excersises for 20 minutes

friday-chest and back weight lifting for 70 minutes, core excersises for 20 minutes

saturday- run at the beach for 40 minutes

sunday- either take a day of rest or go swimming

am i doing good or bad?

lifting heavy weights and doing cardio. I have concluded that low carb diets are the worst, as I always suspected. By the way I was having 3 whey protein shakes w/peanut butter daily (in water). Eggs & egg whites in the morning, & 2 meals consisting of either chicken, meat, or fish w/ walnuts or a small green salad. The total amount of carbs was about 25-30grams a day. I was reducing about 500 calories a day.
My question: What now? Any advice on a diet plan that will burn fat without burning muscle?
