The best part is that they are easy to make, and pleases almost anyone. If you make it yourself, it will definitely be a lot healthier than the store-bought/restaurant version. You could also make “mashed potatoes” out of cauliflower. Crazy, right?! Potatoes are high in vitamins C and B6, which is good for your immune system and may help relieve bloating and stomach pains. Anyone know of diet/recipe books? Low carb and/or calorie? 1

Posted on December 22, 2010 by lowfatdg

I need some recipe books that are low carb and low calorie. I’ll be using various libraries and stores so I should find any you suggest.
One, I don’t have a lot of money to be buying soy milk, low calorie low fat foods and etc. (Not yet anyways). So I have to make due with what my family buys.
Main staples are: milk, eggs, butter, rice, peanut butter, wheat bread, potatoes, all purpose flour, and sugar.
I can get turkey, cream mushroom soup, and pork products. occasionally.

So does anyone know of any diet books, recipes usually, that cater to the poor or short at hand?
Okay, thought I should edit. I excercise everyday. Pilates, dancing, dance work outs, weight watchers work outs, tae bo, yoga, etc. I ride my bike at least 3 miles a day. I walk almost everywhere I go, and walk at least an hour a day jsut to walk. I have sex 4-7 times a week min. (it does burn calories lol). Weight – stays the same. Working on food now. Hence the question. I don’t really want a diet pill.. I’m 110 ibs overweight( I’m 250 atm, but my legs are almost all muscle). (though I don’t look it whew lol). SO wanna help? Also.. I’ll take recipie websites and etc. Anything helps.

My sister has recently had a slightly higher cholesterol, would this help lower it? Also she is vegetarian

Breakfast choices: 1% milk with cherrios , low fat cream cheese on whole wheat bagel, English muffin breakfast pizza low fat cheese and tomato sauce.

Lunch: Whole wheat veggie sandwich with lite mayonnaise and fat free american cheese, Steamed vegetables with low fat sour cream with a carb control veggie wrap, stir fry noodles subbing the oil with cooking spray.

Dinner: Whole wheat pasta with marinara sauce & mashed potatoes, eggplant pasta & steamed broccoli, fresh lettuce and tomatoe with baked crushed beans low carb tortilla burrito.

snacks : apples & low fat yogurt.

Is this a good plan?

Which is better for health, low fat diet or low carb diet? 13

I admit to being confused with conflicting research at the moment. The low carb diet, which eliminates most bread, pasta, rice, fruits and potatoes is apparently good for weight reduction and even though high in fat,is said to lower weight and lower LDL cholesterol. It states this on the Atkins website and backs it up with science.
The low fat diet is high in carbs which are also bad for diabetes and high cholesterol. Armed with this, just what is a healthy diet based on that prevents cholesterol and arterial deposits when both very differen diets slam each other?
