Where Should I Be On The Body Mass Index Scale? 0

Posted on July 05, 2010 by Frank Hurley

Welcome back!

It is a very great idea to ask yourself how much should I weigh. Am I too heavy? What is my Body Mass Index (BMI)? Being over or below weight may affect your health.

You are at an increased risk for disease, diabetes and high blood pressure if your are overweight. To set a goal to be in a healthy weight range is a very good resolution for New Year’s or any other time.

If you know your height you will be able to check to see how much you should weigh. First, tape an 11 ” x 8″ piece of paper to a wall in an area that will show your mark for your height.

Next, make a line at the top of your head, using a pencil or pen, to show how tall you are. Before checking your height remember to remove your shoes first.

Measure the distance from the floor to the mark you made on the paper that is on the wall. Then log that height measurement on another piece of paper. Check your weight without clothes (I suggest after your shower) or ? Take off a few pounds for your clothes and items you have in your pockets.

To check out the weight range for how much should I weigh you will need to check a height weight table. You can find a height weight chart on the internet. To find a height weight table use a search engine and search for the term “height weight table”.

What is my Body Mass Index Number?

I recommend that you use Wikipedia’s Body Mass Index table (BMI) as it is very complete with all the necessary information you need for a complete evaluation of your height weight. If you prefer, use another search engine like Google, Yahoo or any other search engine.

There are many charts available for you to use. Find your height on the height weight table and scan across to find the ideal weight. There will be a choice of either a man or woman in the height weight table, so remember to choose your gender before moving on to the next step.

Another measurement to use to answer the “how much should I weigh” question is to compute the Body Mass Index (BMI). BMI is an indicator of how much fat you have on your body. The indicator on the table will show that you are severely underweight, normal, overweight or obese class I, obese class II or obese class III.

The person with average body weight will fall between 18.5 and 24.9 on the BMI (Body Mass Index) table. A person with a BMI of between 18.5 and 22.9 have a reduced risk of developing heart disease or diabetes.

Although there are many different methods to determine how much you should weigh, the BMI (Body Mass Index) accurate ways to help you find a fit weight for you.

The first and most important step for you to achieve your weight loss goals is to question How Much Should I Weigh. After you know how much you should weigh then visit this site and begin on your own Plan to Lose Weight.

www.EveryoneGuide.com Some Myths and Facts about Weight Loss Low Fat Myth The fact is although low fat diets have been popular for 15 years, people are still getting overweight as each year passes. Low Calorie Myth Eating low calorie diets may allow a few pounds of weight loss for the first few days, but your body will then adjust itself by burning fewer calories each day and all weight loss will come to a halt. Low Carb Myth Low carb diets become very popular these days but they are too strict to follow and may leave you feeling miserable each day. Exercise Myth You don’t get fat because of a lack or exercise. You’re overweight because you eat the wrong foods, you eat the wrong types of calories per meal, and you eat meals in the wrong patterns each day. The fact is: some foods can make you fat but some other foods will make you thin! So, the answer of your weight loss program is FOOD itself. FOOD is more powerful than any prescription weight loss pills. You will lose weight by eating the right foods at the right intervals each day. The right patterns of eating will boost your body to burn much more and more fat. On the contrary, the wrong patterns of meals, even in much smaller amount, will store calories in fat tissue. The good news is, you still can eat 3 meals a day, and even more, and, if you know the right patterns, you will get much slimmer and lighter only within 11 days. Believe it or not but it works! Does a low carb diet cause you to lose muscle? If so, what is the most effective way to lose body fat? 7

Posted on June 16, 2010 by lowfatdg

I’m currently doing cardio 3 times a week coupled with power strength training twice a week. I used to eat good carbs (like multi grain bread, wheat and granola cereal, etc) and have lost 15kg in the past 6 months with about 10% of body fat down. Recently one health instructor I met told me that going on low carb is even better and I’ll lose weight even faster. I have since then (for about a week now) been on a low carb and it feels weird to be on a low carb, high fat & protein diet since I’ve been on a low fat diet for some time. I’ve also been researching and it seems low carb diets are unhealthy. Is this true? Pls advise. Thanks.

How Can I Lose Fat Permanently 0

Posted on June 03, 2010 by Frank Hurley

When you ask this question, how can I lose weight then following fad diets is not the solution if you are planning on keeping the weight off.

Fad diets have one thing in common, they are all diets.

They are like a pair of bell-bottom pants. These diets are wildly popular for a few years and then they are gone. Then, what happens, after a while they come back like a vicious circle when the fitness professionals feel that we are ready to start up with them again. The one thing you should always avoid if you really want to burn body fat is another fad diet.

In the first days of a fad diet several of you will lose some weight. So you get some weight loss initially, but you might also lose some muscle on these diets also. Let me stress this, losing muscle can be counterproductive for your fat burning efforts and your overall health.

But the bigger problem with these diets is that most us who adopt these outlandish diets gain the body fat back, and then some! Has this happened to you?

How can I keep the weight off in the long term, this is the key question.

One reason is the fad diets frequently recommend focusing too much on one type of food, like non-carbohydrate foods (meat and dairy only) or only carbohydrate foods (fruits and vegetables only). If you want unhealthy eating habits, this sort of diet will take you there.

Whenever you limit yourself in the variety of foods that you eat to one type then you are going to be depriving yourself of many necessary vitamins and minerals. Your body requires certain vitamins and minerals and if you don’t get these vitamins and minerals it will lead to ill health and more health problems.

It is said that variety is the spice of life, and to have variety in the nourishing foods that we eat is also needed for good health.

Fad diets are too restrictive to be realistically followed, especially for a lengthy period of time. They are not only unhealthy but these diets are also very difficult to stay on because they take away many of our favorite foods. If you need to lose weight over a long period of time, then do not go on a inflexible restrictive diet.

Behavioral changes in your eating habits is what will keep you on a pattern of weight loss and weight stabilization for the remainder of your life.

You see, the very idea of a diet is doomed to fail. Why? Diets are based in a temporary mindset. Fad diets have a planned ending and then you will finish the diet This is not permanent…why should I struggle to lose 15 pounds when I will gain it back and additional weight when my diet is over.

Even though this is a simple idea, some people just don’t understand. In an attempt to fix their weight and health issues many people turn to diets. The diets cause more problems and they are not the answer. People who diet regularly won’t lose weight in the long term and more often than not they will gain more weight back than they lose.

To respond to the question how can I keep the weight off, it is important for you to seek life long fat burning, health and fitness in a lean body, you should take some advice from my mom, and probably your mom too.

I got the most valuable nutritional information ever from my mom. My mom was right, nearly all the time. My mom didn’t have any knowledge about fat burning, but she fed me very nutritious foods while I was a growing boy.

She especially made a point to make sure I ate my vegetables, especially the green ones. On special occasions she would let me have sweets and some other fun foods, but she limited how much and how often I could have them. She tried to provide a balance of the different food groups throughout the day.

Thank you, Mom! Mom’s diet was actually quite sound, and I’ve found that heeding some of this advice in the pursuit of maximum fat burning and a lean healthy body for the remainder of your life is a smart way to go.

You see your body naturally craves foods rich in nutrients, (antioxidants, phyto nutrients (plant), fiber, vitamins, minerals, etc.) When you eat most of your meals from foods rich in basic nutrients, your body will be satisfied and overeating will no longer be much of a concern.

As a result of eating healthy foods you will go into a fat burning stage as a natural result of giving your body what it thrives on and needs to be healthy. Because you are giving your body what it needs to be healthy you will be promoting natural alkalinity in your body and this will decrease your risk of disease.

When you find that you are eating and eating and never seem satisfied then recognize that this is your body telling you that you are not getting the nutrients that your body requires. Foods lacking in nutrients like, fast foods, fatty foods, sugary foods, etc. This means you will be taking in too many calories.

Consuming too many calories means you will continue to gain weight, get fatter and be more prone to developing diseases related to being overweight. Your body will have an acidic environment, which is an added risk of disease when you gain weight and fat. You just will not burn fat under these conditions.

So nutrition for fat loss, fitness, and health in fact all do go hand in hand. My Fat Burning Furnace students have changed their lives permanently, by simply altering what they put in their bodies and you can do it to.

develop an eating plan of foods high in nutrients. Next, I will define a plan that will aid you in transitioning from where you are now to where you want to be. This plan will have you burning calories 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

One of the most important points to remember in healthy eating is to eat from all of the food groups with a lot of variety and eat them regularly.
