Does anyone have any good recipes for low fat macaroni and cheese? 4

Posted on August 22, 2010 by lowfatdg

Macaroni and cheese is a popular dish, definitely a classic comfort dish, some people even like the store brands. It’s great when you’re on a budget, in a rush, and for college students. BUT, it is extremely FATTENING! Are there any recipes for low fat macaroni and cheese that still taste good? And will eating it for one night really break a diet?

My 15 yr old cousin was recently diagnosed with high cholesterol and has been eating all the wrong things, her mother still buys the high fat snacks for her siblings, but expects the 15 yr old not to eat them. SHe has been found with junk food stashes and this is getting out of hand, she is afraid to diet because she thinks she has to give up all the foods she loves for "rabbit food". If anyone has any ideas or recipes pack with alot of flavor but not alot of fat please pass them along.

Using the Alli diet plan without the pills? 1

Posted on August 20, 2010 by lowfatdg

Recently, my fiance decided to try the Alli Program, and bought the little start up kit. I read the materials, but am still not sold on taking the pills. I know they work, because a woman I work with has lost almost 50lbs in the last year with the Alli program & exercise. But the side effects are definitely off-putting. …especially the recommendation to buy a panty-liner while your body adjusts to the first week on the diet.

The meal plans, however, look wonderful. I need something structured like that because I don’t have much time these days to plan out meals, and I usually eat on the go. I understand that these menus are low-fat and low-cal…so would following the meal plan and exercising help me lose weight?

Is this a healthy diet plan..? 7

Posted on August 18, 2010 by lowfatdg

I’m 14 years old and both me and my 12-year-old are gonna abide with this.
This is the plan:

The main idea is to higher my fiber and protein, lean low with cholesterol, lower my use of saturated fat and sodium, and keep a decent amount of FAT in my diet. (The healthy, natural, non-processed kind.)

Okay, so this is the actual deal:

BREAKFAST – have a cup of water with lemon in it and TWO 1-gram-of-fiber-per-pack splendas and two 130-calorie packs of processed oatmeal with ONE pack of splenda.
Then run for approximately 35 minutes.
SNACK – plate of broccoli.
LUNCH – meat with salad…then bike ride for 45 minutes.
SNACK – fruit salad
DINNER – Yoplait low-fat yogurt.
So I wouldn’t eat more than 750 daily calories and the routine would go on for approximately 6 days.

Do you think we can lose about 5-7 pounds with this? Is it healthy?
