lifting heavy weights and doing cardio. I have concluded that low carb diets are the worst, as I always suspected. By the way I was having 3 whey protein shakes w/peanut butter daily (in water). Eggs & egg whites in the morning, & 2 meals consisting of either chicken, meat, or fish w/ walnuts or a small green salad. The total amount of carbs was about 25-30grams a day. I was reducing about 500 calories a day.
My question: What now? Any advice on a diet plan that will burn fat without burning muscle?

Does any have a good website they can reccommend? Need to know how many mg or in a low sodium & low fat diet. One doctor says 500 & the dietician says 1000 of sodium. What’s best?
Does anyone have any recipes that they’d like to share? No, I’m not writing a cookbook, I’m just bored with what I now know on this subject. Which isn’t very much. I could use some ideas on how to deal with a bland diet. Thanks!

I’m currently doing cardio 3 times a week coupled with power strength training twice a week. I used to eat good carbs (like multi grain bread, wheat and granola cereal, etc) and have lost 15kg in the past 6 months with about 10% of body fat down. Recently one health instructor I met told me that going on low carb is even better and I’ll lose weight even faster. I have since then (for about a week now) been on a low carb and it feels weird to be on a low carb, high fat & protein diet since I’ve been on a low fat diet for some time. I’ve also been researching and it seems low carb diets are unhealthy. Is this true? Pls advise. Thanks.

A clinic nurse said my cholesterol level was right at 40 & it needs to be higher, but I looked online and 40 was normal. I’m 27, male, 5’10, 175 pounds, great physical shape, heavy smoker, non-drinker. She said I need to get on a low fat, low cholesterol diet. So 40 isn’t good?
